Beliefs

We believe that God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)

We believe the local church experience should transform you into an equipped, powerful witness for the living Savior Jesus Christ, clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  We should bear with and forgive each other. The Holy Spirit will lead us to put on love, which binds us all together in perfect unity.  (Eph. 4:10-16; Col. 1:26-28, 3:12-14; Phil. 3:9-12)

We believe the Bible tells us Jesus is the Head and we are His body. Everything that pertains to life and godliness flows from the Head down to the body. (Eph. 4:10-16, Ps. 133)

We believe God’s Word says, “He” sets men in the body, and every joint has a supply of Jesus. (1 Cor. 12:12-20)

We believe these “groups” which the Bible calls “companies of believers” are expressed as every person brings their supply of Jesus and this “company” grows into a family. This family becomes a powerful weapon of love, encouragement, prayer and strength that produces safety and protection for every person through their fortified supply of Jesus. (Acts 2:42-47; 4:23-24; 37-5:1)

We believe that through both these corporate expressions of Jesus' presence and personal supplies of Jesus, people are transformed, which in turn transforms communities, which transforms cities, which transforms the world one life at a time. (Eph. 3:10; Matt. 6:9-13)

We believe that every believer needs to walk in the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit as Jesus told us to do in the book of Acts.  It takes the power of the Holy Spirit to be a witness of Jesus. He said signs would follow them (heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils.) (Mark 16:15-17; Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-4)

We believe even the youngest believer can walk in great power but the sign of maturity is fruit, or some might call it character. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience (long-suffering), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These grown-up believers are good stewards of life, people and possessions.  God’s presence rests on them in peace. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-8; Gal. 5:16-26)

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.  Jesus said, “My words are spirit and life, healing and health….” They are actual containers of His presence.  The Word of God is profitable for correction, doctrine and reproof.(2 Timothy 3:15-16; John 6:63; 1 Peter 2:2; Is. 55:11; Pro. 4:20-22)

We believe in the Trinity…three being one, all unique expressions but one consisting of:

Father: the most-high God, Creator of heaven and earth, the great I Am and Ruler of the universe. (Gen. 1:26-27; Exodus 3:14; Daniel 4:17)
Son: Jesus, Word, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Light of the world, Bread come down from heaven (John 1:1-5; John 6:34-35; Is. 9:6)
Holy Spirit: Eternal Presence of God, the 7-fold Spirit of Wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear of the Lord, Holiness, empowerment of the believer. (Is. 11:2; Acts 1:4-8)

We believe in 2 baptisms:

Water baptism - an outward expression of inward connection to God.
Holy Spirit baptism - the empowerment of God to be a witness. (John 16:8-15; Acts 1:7-8; Acts 8:1-25; Eph.4:5)

We believe in Communion, a physical remembrance of Jesus’ body being broken as our sacrificial lamb and His blood being poured out for our sin. (Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor.11:27-29; John 6:55-58)

We believe in tithing as a New Testament act of obedience.  Jesus is still receiving tithes as our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.  The Melchizedekian priesthood had two purposes - he blessed and he received tithes.  Jesus is our High Priest.  When we tithe we are showing we believe He is alive. (Gen. 14:18-20; Hebrews 5:6; 6:20; 7:2; 7:11; Gen. 28:10-22; Jacob’s response to his interaction with the angel at the house of God was to tithe.)

We will incorporate the following elements into our meetings because we see them described in the Bible in the early church:
1.  Breaking of bread, including the Lord’s supper.
2.  Prayer
3.  Equipping
4.  Worship
5.  Caring for widows and orphans
